I need a plan

Done the move again

I had the pleasure to go to Kletterhalle and try the move again on the 6c. After getting back from the UK I felt a bit sick so I didn't have high hopes to do anything hard. First thing, I managed to get pumped on a 5a toprope and everything felt very hard.

After some toproping and do an easy lead, we've done a 6a with Christoph, then we tried the route. I got really pumped before the hard move and had to take a rest, but after that I have easily managed to do it.

I'm almost sure that I am still adjusting to the higher walls. I think one of the biggest challenge for the next couple of weeks is to get my endurance to a higher level. This week I will do some research around this topic and make a plan for the upcoming weeks.

Bob again

On Sunday I had a nice bouldering session with my wife and Bob (the Vertical Life app coach :D ). Unfortunately Christoph got ill and cancelled on me. Wish you a speedy recovery man!

With Emi on my side I left the house around 9.30am and started the session around 10.15am. After a warm up I've opened the app and followed the training plan. Last time I put 6a+ as flash grade and 6b as second try, which gave us very hard 6c's back, so now I set the bar one grade lower.

The initial warm up and the first couple of problems were alright and also Emi tried some of them as well, I have to say she has quite good technique and I was very proud of her. Then in the main training it got harder and very sustained, varying between problems from 5+ to 6b+. I realised that I don't usually do many problems in one session, so this time around the half of the training (around 20 problems) my skin hurt and I was super tired. I had to skip one 6b+, because I just couldn't get the strength anymore to do it.

So the coaching session is very exhausting but great fun. Definitely not a thing to do alone as I would quit half way if it was not for Emi, who did a very great impression of coach Bob's attitude.
